Whistle Sessions

Upcoming Events

Join us every Thursday evening at 7:30 pm for a whistle session at the Stephenville Elementary School. Players at all levels, including beginners, are welcome. Sessions are free for members of the Bay St. George Folk Arts Council.

Great opportunity to learn to play a whistle in an informal group setting!

Did You Know?

The tin whistle, also called the penny whistle, English flageolet, Scottish penny whistle, tin flageolet, Irish whistle, among others, is a simple, six-holed woodwind instrument. It is a fipple flute, putting it in the same category as the recorder, Native American flute, and other woodwind instruments that meet such criteria. A tin whistle player is called a tin whistler or simply a whistler. The tin whistle is closely associated with Celtic music.
